DIPLOMA IN COMPUTER SCIENCE

This course aims at producing highly qualified, efficient technicians capable of meeting the requirements of the basic level of the Information Science & Technology field.

In this course diploma in computer science the students are exposed to Basics of Computers, Microprocessor, & software like C, C++, Java, VB, LINUX, Database Management Systems, Web Technology, Multimedia & the latest. NET software. In addition they are also exposed to PC Hardware, Maintenance & Networking.

HIGHER STUDIES OPTIONS

After completion of the course the Diploma students can directly join for III Sem B.E. courses in the respective branches or even they can for the Associate Member of Institution of Engineer (AMIE) as a external candidate conducted by Institution of Engineers (India) Calcutta.

CAREER OPTIONS

On completion of Diploma in Information Science, plenty of career opportunities exist in the IT industry. The students can go for further studies like the B.E Course. They can find openings as software engineers, system developers & programmers. They get sufficient opportunity to learn PC hardware so that they can become Hardware Engineers. They can become network engineers. They are eligible for the Apprenticeship training program in HAL, NAL, etc. Infinite opportunities.

Eligibility

  • As per the norms laid down by Director of Technical Education, Government of Karnataka
  • Non-Karnataka students should obtain Eligibility Certificate issued by the Department of Technical Education, Govt. of Karnataka
  • Karnataka students who have passed class X in ICSE or CBSE should also obtain Eligibility Certificate issued by the Department of Technical Education, Government of Karnataka
  • Duration : 3 Years (6 Semesters)
  • Intake : 45 Seats
  • Under Lateral Entry Scheme
  • 20% seats Reserved for III Sem BE Course in respective branches for Diploma Holders Reservation of seats
  • 15% seats are reserved for Schedule Caste and 5% for Schedule Tribes students as per the norms of Director of Technical Education Government of Karnataka.
